Moving

We provide strong, reliable moving teams at a fair rate. Large moving companies just can't match our personalized customer service.

We can provide 2, 3 and 4-mover teams with a truck  and equipment for a high-quality full-service move.

Or for help with truck loading and unloading, in-building and in-apartment moves, we can provide experienced movers without a truck at affordable rates.

Our movers are skilled with truck loading, and can secure your cargo safely, even for long distance trips. Our experienced teams can take the doubt out of doing this yourself by providing a strong labor chain on stairs and in other difficult situations.

You won't be lost in the shuffle, or left stranded on the big day. Our salespeople will answer all your questions, provide as accurate a quote as possible and let you know all possible charges up front. We can offer advice, and suggest solutions to fit almost any budget. We remain responsive and in touch through all aspects of your relocation.

NYC Moving Tips

Moving can seem stressful, but the more prepared you are, the easier the transition will be. Here are some simple things you can do to prepare. (We'll take care of the heavy lifting!)

3-4 Weeks Before the Move:

• Maximize your chances of security deposit retrieval: Make or plan to make any little repairs around the apartment you are vacating (patch holes from hanging pictures, etc.). The general rule with management companies/landlords and your security deposit is "give them an inch, they will take a mile. And then they will keep your security deposit."

2-3 Weeks Before the Move:

• Get quotes from moving companies and choose one that fits your needs and budget and that you feel comfortable working with. (May we suggest Stress Less?) Make sure all the charges have been explained clearly.

• Check with all buildings involved with your move to see if any of them require a certificate of General Liability insurance from the moving company. If so, contact your moving company and let them know whom to contact at the building management company.

1-2 Weeks Before the Move:

• Pack as much as you can, comfortably, focusing on items that you don't necessarily use every day. Also take this opportunity to evaluate your stuff and decide if you really want to take it all with you. Moving is a great time to streamline!

• Remember to use the smallest boxes available for heavy items like books and record albums (for you analog folks).

Days Before the Move:

• Remove and pack the clothing from dresser drawers. Not only is it safer for the movers, the building and everyone involved, it will also protect the structural integrity of your furniture. There's no need to remove the drawers or tape them shut.

• Make plans for transporting your personal items - pack a suitcase with a few changes of clothes, toiletries, work/school materials and stuff you will need right away.

• Eat, give away or package up your food.

• We will be fully prepared to disassemble and reassemble your bed frame, or any other furniture that requires it during the move, but you can do so ahead of time to save time during the move.

• Finish packing and seal your boxes. If possible, label them with the room they should go in the new place. You can stack them near the door to save even more time during the move.

• Figure out how you're going to get between locations the day of the move.

The Day of the Move:

• Relax! You are all set. Especially if you chose Stress Less Moving as your moving company.
